Bonjour!
My name is Laura, and I’ll be using this blog for my summer study abroad trip in Paris. I’ll be in Paris for seven weeks, and thankfully, I’m going to live with a family with four little kids. I’m excited to have the full family experience because I can imagine I’ll need some sort of familial security while in a foreign country, and young children are hilarious.
In this blog, I’ll post pictures, document conversations I’ve had with native French speakers, and write about my experiences. My goal is to reach out to friends, family members, and readers in the United States, and I hope my journal entries will debunk or (in some cases) reinforce any pre-existing ideas people may have about the French culture.
This may end up being “diary focused.” Still, I hope to provide personal and objective insight into Parisian life, and on occasion, I’ll share my inevitable funny stories. No matter where I go, the weirdest things always happen to me.
à bientôt!
Laura

Paris is one of the places on my “bucket list”, so I’m looking forward to hearing about it from your perspective. Have fun: I know I’d love to be somewhere that calls eighty degrees a warm summer day.

Thanks, Jimi! I’m honestly just nervous because it’s going to be really cold, at least by Tucson standards. I think the average temperature will be around 60-70, and it WILL rain. I’m sure I’ll be ready to come back here when I’m done
